It currently holds the highest tile production capacity in Bangladesh at 51,000 square metres per day and houses Bangladesh's longest kiln at 261 metres, all under a single shed. Machinery was brought in from the USA, Germany, Italy, and China. Their in-house laboratory is reportedly the most advanced of any tile manufacturer in Bangladesh. Mir Ceramic Ltd. was established in 2001 by Mir Nasir Hossain, former president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and one of the most prominent business figures in the country.
